Irem Karacal is currently a J.D. candidate at Syracuse University College of Law and an M.A. in International Relations candidate at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Class of 2018. She graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015.
Her passion for the arts stems from a background in dance, academic pursuits in art history, and a personal passion for literature. Her lifetime interest in the visual and performing arts inspired her to pursue a career connecting her interests in intellectual property and contract law to cultural heritage and the arts. Irem hopes to use her international relations and legal background to foster greater protections for world heritage and for performing and visual artists and institutions.
