Eileen Hendriksen, LMSW is just beginning her social work career and would love to be able to combine her interests in art, aging, and community organizing. She has professional and field experience working with older adults, those affected by Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias and their caregivers, adults with developmental disabilities, and survivors of domestic violence. As an advanced standing MSW student at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College (CUNY) following the Community Organizing, Planning, & Development method, and the Aging field of practice, Eileen was awarded a scholarship from the Hugh Downs endowment for students specializing in gerontology. She attended Dominican College and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Social Work and was inducted into Alpha Chi, Phi Alpha, and Pi Gamma Mu Honor Societies. Eileen has also facilitated several watercolor painting workshops for individuals with dementia in collaboration with her local office of The Alzheimer’s Association.
